Casey Moir

Casey Moir is an Australian born, Swedish based vocal-artist, improviser, and composer. Intrigued by unconventional sounds and extended techniques, the investigation into the rich sound spectrum of the voice is an integral part of her artistic practice and endeavours. Working in the fields of free improvisation and experimental composition she navigates both the acoustic voice, and the amplified voice routed through a selection effect pedals that elongate, manipulate, layer, distort and contort sound. She also has a keen interest in the concept of space and room, working often with the creation of spatial experiences. This process embraces discovering the visual perspective of musical content, performance and composition.
