Melanie Herbert

Melanie Herbert is a Sydney-based composer, performer and installation artist. She performs in 8-piece laptop orchestra Electronic Resonance Korps, as well as large-scale improvising ensemble, Splinter Orchestra. As resident sound artist for Earthcrosser Company, Melanie has been involved in self-devised theatre works such as Room which was showcased at PACT theatre in May 2014. She has performed and created works for The NOW now, What Is Music?, Frequency Oz, Volta Collective, Sound Out and Liquid Architecture festivals, among others. Melanie’s solo installation entitled it called out featured at CAT gallery as part of MONA Festival of Music and Art 2014. Recently, her multi-speaker work maps was recorded live in the studio at ABC Radio National for their Soundproof program.
