Sarah Peebles
Sarah Peebles is a Toronto-based installation artist, music improvisor and composer. Much of her work explores distinct approaches to performing the Japanese mouth-organ, shō (笙) , unconventional methods of amplification, and digitally manipulated found sound. She also collaborates with artists, natural builders, technicians and biologists on a series of projects addressing pollination ecology and biodiversity, with a special focus on native bees, entitled “Resonating Bodies”. Her music is published on unsounds, cycling 74, Innova Recordings, and post-concret, among others.
