Lisa Rae Bartolomei
Lisa Rae Bartolomei is a multidisciplinary artist and musician working predominantly in the realm of spatially based electroacoustic music for performance and installation. She is enrolled in a Masters of Design at RMIT’s SIAL Sound Studios. Previously completing an Advanced Diploma of Sound Production and Honours in Fine Art at RMIT. Her practice incorporates elements of site-specific field recording, spectralism and experimental musical composition. Her art veers between a fragile, melancholic, yet beautiful daydream and a nightmarish vision of Armageddon.
With over 20 years’ experience as a musician, she is currently a member of the Starlings Spatial Sound Collective. Recent works include In 2018, MMW’s Tunnel/Vision, at the ACMI Hub with Bonnie Mercer. In 2019 she collaborated on, Containing the Infinite, presented at the Tilde New Music Festival and nominated for the Nillumbik Art Prize (2019). In 2020, she contributed to the Future Archive for The Things We Did Next, presented for Arts House’s online Bleed Festival.
