Kate Carr
Kate Carr is an Australian sound artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her work explores the way we shape, reshape and are shaped by the natural and built world. From desire paths, de-population, decay and renewal, she’s interested in exploring the lived sonic realities and histories of human places.
She uses sound to interrogate how it feels to exist in particular soundscapes, and how we use sound to understand, cherish and mark special places whether these be sites of important memories, or everyday places which soothe. She’s interested in the ways we get lost physically and emotionally in sound and the ways we use it to find our way again.
