Julia Drouhin

Julia Drouhin

Julia Drouhin is a French artist and curator living in the bush of Tasmania. She often mixes sound, food and fashion during collective mini-FM or online performances in Europe and Australia. She creates radioscapes, installations and performances from field recordings and found objects. She co-founded the international Radiophonic Creation Day and French Kontact sonoreS festival.

She was granted a 2012 Phonurgia Nova award and a residency at the GRM / INA in Paris, France to develop her Ghost Track project in Tasmanian ghost towns. She was the recipient of the 6th Swiss Giuseppe Englert prize during the 2014 Rencontres Architecture Musique Ecologie and the emerging curator mentorship with Pip Stafford for 2016 Next Wave Festival in collaboration with Liquid Architecture. Constance ARI presented her Ultrasound walk in Arthur Circus, Hobart, Tasmania. She completed her PhD in aesthetics, sciences and technology about the art of walking and radio performances at the University of Paris 8, France in 2011.
